bleeding, pain when passing a motion,
swelling around the anus, and itching.

• Bath the area, dry
thoroughly and apply a soothing cream or
lotion.
When to
consult a doctor
• If there is bleeding from the anus, either
with or after passing a motion.
• If passage of the mucus or slime is
noticed. There is often no significance, but
occasionally it may be a sign of a serious
disease.
• If irritation persist enough to cause
embarrassment.
